Terms
Terms for a paid reading of one provider bill
Effective date: 2026-08-31. These terms are the rules for using Bill Plain. They are not a certification that we are licensed in any profession, and they are not legal advice.
The service
Bill Plain sells a paid plain-English reading of one provider medical bill (a hospital, clinic, or lab invoice) for one household. The memo restates numbers already printed on that invoice — sticker total, line items, possible duplicate lines, and arithmetic — and lists questions about the bill, each labeled High, Medium, or Low. Questions are not findings that someone made an error.
We may refuse any job. We review an enquiry before we send a pay link. Nothing is charged on the public page.
What this is not
This is not legal advice, medical advice, or insurance advice. Bill Plain is not a law firm, not a medical practice, not a licensed claims adjuster, and not an insurance consultant or insurance analyst. We do not advise on insurance contracts or your rights under a plan. We do not read insurance plan documents. We do not do plan work. There is no letter. We do not represent you, negotiate for you, call anyone, send anything, pay a bill, or file an appeal.
Who may use it
You must be 18 or older (18+) to enquire or pay.
Payment, refusal, and refunds
If we accept the job, you pay through Stripe Checkout. We can decline the job before you pay, and then you owe nothing. After the memo is delivered, there is no refund.
Liability
If something goes wrong, our liability is limited to the fee you paid for that job. We are not responsible for what a hospital, clinic, lab, or anyone else does with your bill.
Governing law
California law governs these terms. Venue is the state or federal courts in Santa Clara County, California. That choice of law does not mean we are licensed, registered, or offering advice in every state.
